Argentinian forward and captain of Inter Milan, Lautaro Martinez, expressed his pride in Barcelona‘s interest in signing him this summer. However, he emphasized that his sole desire is to remain with his Italian club, according to his statements to Sky Italia.
Lautaro stated, “I am proud to be linked with Barcelona, but I want to stay at Inter… I love this club, its fans, and its officials, and I will remain as long as the management wants me to continue.”
The Catalan club sought to compensate for the departure of its strikers this summer:
- Robert Lewandowski to Chicago Fire in the United States
- Ferran Torres to Paris Saint-Germain
Additionally, their negotiations to sign Argentinian Julian Alvarez faltered before they turned towards acquiring Brazilian Gabriel Jesus, the Arsenal forward.
