The armed forces thwart an attempt to smuggle a shipment of narcotic pills into Saudi Arabia through the Al-Wadiah border crossing.

The Yemeni Armed Forces thwarted an attempt to smuggle a shipment of narcotic pills on Thursday. The shipment was en route to Saudi Arabia, originating from areas controlled by the terrorist Houthi militia, through the Al-Wadiah border crossing.

The Armed Forces’ media center stated that the Security and Protection Battalion of the Al-Wadiah crossing intercepted approximately 15,000 pregabalin pills. These pills were carefully concealed within cavities of a vehicle’s structure and were discovered during routine inspection procedures at the crossing.

The battalion commander, Brigadier General Bassam Al-Najjar, confirmed that the vehicle and its driver have been detained in preparation for their referral, along with the seized items, to the relevant authorities. He praised the vigilance and high security awareness of the battalion members in uncovering smuggling operations.

Al-Najjar emphasized the ongoing efforts to protect the crossing and combat attempts to smuggle drugs and contraband, thereby enhancing the security and stability of the two brotherly countries. He urged citizens to cooperate with security agencies and report any smuggling attempts.
