The Houthi militia attacks western coastal districts with ballistic missiles and drones.

The Houthi militia launched an attack early Thursday on coastal districts under Yemeni government control in the provinces of Hodeidah and Taiz, utilizing ballistic missiles, drones, and artillery shells in a new escalation targeting civilian sites and densely populated areas.

The Armed Forces Media Center reported that the militia targeted the western coastal districts of Taiz and Hodeidah with 14 ballistic missiles, coinciding with intensive drone attacks. It confirmed that the missiles did not impact the operational theater of the forces stationed on the western coast.

The center noted that air defenses managed to down several drones in the Taiz axis and the skies over the western coastal districts, as part of efforts to counter the militia’s ongoing attacks.

Meanwhile, the military media of the National Resistance Brigades reported that the Houthi militia targeted the coastal village of Al-Hayma in Al-Tuhaita district with five mortar shells, simultaneously targeting eastern Hays with a suicide drone, causing panic among residents.

Local sources also reported a missile landing in agricultural land in the Al-Karabda area of Maqbanah district, western Taiz, without causing human or material losses.

Other sources confirmed that the militia launched a series of ballistic missile attacks towards targeted cities in Taiz and Hodeidah from their controlled areas in the provinces of Taiz and Ibb.

On Wednesday, the Houthi militia targeted a popular market near displacement sites in the rural area of Mawza district, western Taiz, with two ballistic missiles. This caused material damage to a workshop that was unoccupied at the time, and sparked widespread fear among citizens and displaced persons.

In the city of Taiz, artillery shells fired by the militia fell on residential neighborhoods around Jabal Jara and Wadi Al-Qadi in the northern part of the city, causing material damage.
